Penelope Houston CD Release Show Print

In March I had the great pleasure to do a print for my friend and esteemed singer songwriter, Penelope Houston, and her CD Release show at Cafe Du Nord in SF. I was a great night, and I especially enjoyed chatting with Penelope's partner, Steve who is the founder of a great new independent record label in SF called Superior Viaduct. SV specializes in rare and out of print vinyl and CD rereleases of obscure and seminal Bay Area punk bands, including Penelope's band The Avengers... Art Opening!

My second ever Art opening is happening this coming Friday at the Uptown Nite Club in Oakland. I'm in the midst of framing older stuff and preparing a few newer pieces ( as well as a poster for the show ) now and will have everything on display next week and for sale. Come say Hey!

All of Us or None Exhibit Demo

I had the great honor to participate in a live screen printing demonstration at the Oakland Museum of California, as part of their All of Us or None : Social Justice Posters of the Bay Area Exhibit. The gallery is filled with 68 posters from the Bay Area and spanning a range of years. It was really great to answer questions and field conversation while I printed the keyline layer of my 2 color design in the Museum's Great Hall, and I am talking with the staff about possibly doing an upcoming Friday night event at the end of June... My print, a poster for Jean Ritchie and George Pickow's Appalachain Dulcimer shop, located near the Williamsburg Bridge in Brooklyn ( from 1949-1965 ) will be added to my online store soon. It is the first print on my new larger press, and measures 19.5 x 24...

Jolie Holland!

Very pleased to announce my first showprint for 2012, and the first one in quite some time! I will be designing and printing for singer/songwriter Jolie Holland playing February 24 at the Swedish American Hall, upstairs from Cafe Du Nord in SF. I have been a huge fan of Jolie's traditionally inspired music for many years, so I am really looking forward to the show! The roughs and final design will be posted soon, watch for them.
